Introduction

Our latest project, completed in Kenya and successfully transported to Uganda, is a testament to our commitment to quality, efficiency and sustainability. Here is a walk-through of the journey of these remarkable Modular 40 m² and 80 m² Uganda Tetris homes, from idea conception to the final installation.

1. Initial Site Visit and Planning

Before embarking on the construction process, our team conducted an extensive site visit in Uganda to assess the location’s terrain, accessibility and environmental considerations. This phase was crucial in determining the best design, foundation requirements and logistics for transporting the units when completed.

2.Structural and Interior Design

Once the site evaluation was complete, our team of architects and interior designers got to work, crafting a functional and aesthetically pleasing structure tailored to the client’s needs. Our focus was on maximizing space, ensuring structural integrity and integrating modern interior features. 3D renderings were created to provide a clear vision of the final product.

3. Prefabrication Process

With the design finalized, we moved on to start the construction process. The units were prefabricated at our facility in Kenya. This phase takes 30-45 days and involved:

  • Steel Frame Construction: Provides a strong and durable structural skeleton for the house.
  • Wall Panel Assembly: Utilizes high-quality insulated panels to enhance energy efficiency.
  • Roof and Flooring Installation: Expertly engineered components ensure long-lasting durability and long term performance.
  • Electrical and Plumbing Systems: Seamlessly integrated during prefabrication for effortless connection upon installation.
  • Interior Finishing: Installation of custom cabinetry, flooring, lighting, and décor elements tailored to the client’s specifications.
4. Loading and Transportation.

Upon completion, each home was carefully packaged and secured for transportation. Using specialized loading techniques, the prefabricated units were lifted onto flatbed trucks, ensuring stability and safety throughout the journey. Transportation from Kenya to Uganda takes 5-7 days and with the cross-border nature of this project, a lot of logistics planning was essential to ensure seamless customs clearance and road transport efficiency. Tetris technology is KEBS approved, and we have export certificates for East Africa Community (EAC) , COMESA and AfCFTA negating duty in the East African Region and afar.

5. Delivery and Setup

After reaching the destination in Uganda, our installation team began the final stage, which was setting up. The setup process took 21 days and included;

  • Foundation Preparation – a pre-prepared base ensured quick and secure installation,
  • Unit Placement and AssemblyThe prefabricated modules were carefully offloaded, positioned and anchored.
  • Utility Connections Electricity, water, and drainage systems were integrated and tested.
  • Final Touches – Interior styling, exterior painting and landscaping were completed to enhance the overall aesthetic appeal.
